False Rue Anemone
Enemion biternatum
A delicate carpeter of rich bottomland woods, covering the ground with white flowers above finely divided blue-green foliage in early spring, then dying back as the canopy closes. It is told from true rue anemone by flowers borne singly from the leaf axils rather than in a terminal cluster. Colonizes steadily in moist, calcareous shade.
