White Stopper
Eugenia axillaris
A hammock stopper grown as a dense hedge or a small multi-trunked tree, with new growth flushing red-bronze against dark mature leaves. The foliage carries a distinctive skunky-sweet scent when crushed that gives the tree away before you see it. Black fruit feeds birds; thoroughly salt-tolerant.
