Candelilla
Euphorbia antisyphilitica
Candelilla is a striking, nearly leafless Chihuahuan Desert shrub of slender, blue-green wax-coated stems, tipped with tiny pink-white flowers, an architectural, exceptionally drought-proof native of West Texas. Like other spurges it runs with a milky latex, poisonous swallowed and severely irritating to skin and eyes, and it stays potent in dried material.
