Allegheny Spurge
Pachysandra procumbens
The native answer to invasive Japanese pachysandra: matte blue-green leaves mottled with silver and purple as the season goes on, and fragrant bottlebrush flowers at ground level in early spring. Spreads at a civilized pace rather than smothering, and its leaves persist through mild winters.
