Texas Lantana
Lantana urticoides
The native Texas lantana, its flower heads opening yellow and ageing through orange to red so each cluster shows several colours at once. Blooms from spring until frost with no irrigation and is a heavy butterfly nectar source. Unlike the invasive Lantana camara of the nursery trade, this is the real native — worth insisting on the correct name when buying.
