Ludwigia alternifolia
Seedbox is grown as much for its fruit as its flower: neat cubical capsules with a pore at the top that rattle audibly when shaken, persisting on the stems all winter. The four yellow petals drop by midday. An easy, upright plant for reliably damp ground and a good source of winter structure.
