Flaxleaf Monardella
Monardella linoides
A silvery, intensely aromatic subshrub of desert mountains, topped in summer by dense heads of pale lavender flowers surrounded by papery bracts. Bees and butterflies work it hard. Needs gritty soil, full sun and dry air; it rots quickly in humid gardens or with overhead watering.
