Rose Sage
Salvia pachyphylla
One of the finest desert sages for gardens: a low silver-leaved mound topped for months by rose-purple bracts that hold their color long after the blue flowers fade. Intensely aromatic and drought-proof, it wants full sun, gritty soil and no summer irrigation. Hardy to high elevation, unlike most Southwestern salvias.
