Ithuriel's Spear
Triteleia laxa
A California corm that sends up airy umbels of blue-violet trumpets on bare stems in late spring, just as the grasses go gold. The leaves wither before bloom, so it wants a dry summer rest — ideal under oaks or among natives that are never watered. 'Queen Fabiola' is the widely sold selection.
