White Rosinweed

Silphium albiflorum

The only white-flowered rosinweed, endemic to the limestone prairies of north-central Texas, with rough deeply cut leaves and a taproot that goes down feet rather than inches. Blooms through the worst of the summer heat on no irrigation. Effectively unmovable once established — site it once.
