Kentucky Lady's Slipper
Cypripedium kentuckiense
Bears the largest flower in the genus — a pale cream to ivory pouch the size of a hen's egg, framed by twisted mahogany petals. A rare plant of southeastern streamside terraces, but a vigorous and forgiving garden subject where soil stays moist and drains freely.
