Yellow Lady's Slipper
Cypripedium parviflorum
A bright yellow inflated pouch flanked by spiraling brown-purple petals, on a pleated-leaved woodland orchid. The most adaptable and widespread lady's slipper, and the one most reliably available nursery-propagated. Buy propagated stock only — wild-collected plants rarely survive and their removal is what has thinned the wild populations.
