Havard Agave
Agave havardiana
A compact, broad-leaved Trans-Pecos agave forming tight blue-grey rosettes armed with dark terminal spines. The hardiest of the large agaves, reliable well north of its range where drainage is sharp — the killer is winter wet, not cold. Sends up a branched flower stalk to fifteen feet once, then dies, leaving offsets behind.
